Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning. –Rick Cook, The Wizardry Compiled

Confessions from the creators

My name is Jack Boberg, and the content present here and the code that drives it are my fault. ( coded by hand ) is a a collaborative effort of sorts, since my wife Lindha Boberg is responsible for all the presentational aspects. We take the web seriously, and in an extension of the separation of style and content, we do not touch each others work.

Jack–Developer

I write PHP applications that generate XHTML with standards and accessibility as a priority. I call the site ( coded by hand ) because I use a text editor to write all my code. There are a lot of applications available today that 'assist' programmers in generating code in a WYSIWYG fashion; I feel they do a terrible job and remove massive amounts of control from the developer.

( cbh ) represents my personal web-space as well as bit of a commercial entity. While writing scripts and learning about internet technologies can certainly be considered my favorite hobby, I am more than willing to accept payment to do it for others. You can view some of the work I have done for others on this site, and my current clients are able to log in to a sub-domain on this space to interact directly with me and their projects while in progress.

One of the most important aspects about PHP to me is the fact that is an open source programming language. In an effort to build on that environment, whenever practical I use Creative Commons licenses for my work. You can find some bits I share on this site, and I will frequently write about open source projects I have found or am using.

Lindha–Designer

Lindha has a passion for clean lines and penguins. You can find her work in several international publications, bookstores, and online.
